it really has been some time since my last entry! somehow nv got down to writing the past few weeks... and now tt my typing has been impeded by a deep gash (ok a cut) tt has appeared mysteriously on my fourth finger, i'm actually straining myself to type... haha how ironic...
hmmm oops i dun think tt interested anyone much! bleah. to the strangers who randomly stumble onto this blog cos of terms like "valuair stewardess" (there actually have been quite a few) and "taegukgi dvd" (no sniggers, henry), i offer my deepest apologies.... pls stop wasting your time reading right now... =p
well well... anw there was a dinner for the incoming freshies yest... gosh one yr has really flown by so quickly?! feel so old now... but somehow im also glad tt im no longer in that position... i'm nv one who thrives on new situations/new environments/blahblahblah so it's also a good feeling to be settled in and be able to dispense "advice" instead of being on the receiving end! heh self-consolation lah....
somehow topics like elitism, (being in the company of) high-flyers and success seem to be floating around a lot nowadays *ahem* so i shall add my 2 rupiahs worth. it just seems to me that i often get too swept up in the rush of things? looking back, when i was in sec 4, the Os seemed everything... then i got to jc and realized tt actually they weren't so impt after all... just need 6 subjs to get into the jc of your choice, and even then dun really need all A1s... then the promos loomed, and despite knowing tt barnard would probably let most of us do the S papers we wanted, we were still pretty hung up about it.... finally the As... and... 'nuff said. back then the US vs UK question hadn't been settled but even then, i think it would haf made little difference for me even if i had decided on the former... still irks me tt all tt cramming for history gets me no credits whereas math (in comparison a piece of cake and... dare i say it... of seemingly less relevance to my interests) got me 4... hai i dunno... maybe it's part and parcel of life tt in retrospect things always seem less important than they did... and after all its the 'education of the mind' and not the grades yadayada... but at the end of the day, what really matters???? i think we all know the answer deep down... for me though, it boils down to a matter of choosing things that are ACHIEVABLE as opposed to things tt are less tangible, less immediate, less within-your-control...
either that or just block everything out and see where life takes you... tell yourself tt things you dun get are not important... nothing matters anyway...?? tis a disturbing thought. i'm turning into a depressed soul here!
shall return back to the real world of weekdays waking up at 7am, staring at the computer screen, daily pool sessions after lunch (unfortunately i'm xiu mu bu ke diao), exhaustion by night, and sleeping late on sundays (whatever happened to my resolution to jog wif my parents on sunday). i think it's good to read about current affairs, because then you realize how small your problems are compared to the world's... self-consolation again =p
