The stranger sang a theme
From someone else's dream
The leaves began to fall
And no one spoke at all
But I can't seem to recall
When you came along

the simple pleasures in life
part 1: it's amazing what kids do to amuse themselves on the mrt. the time from bukit gombak to yck really flies when you occupy yourself with finding out the answer=p witnessed this really funny scene when a little girl finally got so tired after prancing around that she fell asleep lying down on her father's lap, a middle aged guy all decked out in business attire... and somemore he was like patting her to sleep... awww... quite a picture of juxtaposition i must say but so sweet rite... heh hope this duzzen sound strange but it's so interesting to watch little kids on the mrt cos they never just spend their time stoning away unlike adults...
part 2: eating at *clean* hawker centers. there is just SO much variety and the food is so cheap and nice!! not bad ah, i've covered most of the famous ones like newton, tekka, chomp chomp, ghim moh market, the one opp ginza plaza, and the latest addition is maxwell... it's so much better eating in a group, cos can pull funds together and share food... hm the 5 of us didn't eat a lot yesterday rite, just 7 hum jin pang (still can't believe we bought them for a dollar, n there was a bonus "interactive" element of frying it yourself *so fun*), char kuay teow x 1, yu pian mi fen x 2, hokkien mee x 2, carrot cake x 1, oyster x 1, plus some tu-tus... dunno y my parents were so shocked when i told them! tho come to think about it i've been feasting on so much unhealthy stuff during weekday lunches too... tsk tsk. anw the reason for my very detailed list is cos we only spent $7 each on all that food (incl drinks), can u believe it?!?! omg. compared to spending tt same amt in US for a miserable cold sandwich...
part 3: thronging the streets of chinatown when there's a slight breeze and a bustle in the air... hahaha actually the last was prob a figment of my imagination. but it was my first time there in ages so of cos I was excited to take in the "sights and sounds" of singapore! got to see all the - apparently - "vanishing trades" (as announced by huge signboards) like snake charming and scary looking chinese masks... as tze said, the pasar malam atmosphere is really like hk, minus the dirty water dripping down... too bad the same can't be said of the prices... dunno leh i always wonder why tourists will want to come to singapore when there're places like thailand and hk around...
anw... hc carnival was quite boring... as usual felt really old walking ard... and too bad didn't get to see the humanz tutors (other than white). but partyworld was better than expected! no major screw ups with the sound system, and song selection was decent enuff... heard duets done better than i've ever heard before too... HAHA. hmmz guess i shud be quite guilty abt missing the freshies thing... but then only 2 weekends left must spend it stringently rite...
which brings me to the point that I HAVE LESS THAN 2 WEEKS LEFT!!! sigh sigh sigh sigh. i guess the summer sch people can't wait for it to be over whereas for people here in singapore...... ok more to come on summer retrospection later on... =)
